Long Beach is the seventh-largest city in California. It is a major industrial port, ranked second-busiest in the U.S. and tenth-busiest in the World. Beside international trade its home to high technology, aerospace industry such as Gulf Stream and Boeing. Tourism is also very important part of Long Beach economy as well boating.
Long Beach is fortunate to have 8.2 miles of beach, private marinas on Alamitos Bay and Long Beach Marina, which includes Alamitos Bay Marina (which is also where the Chrisman Marina is situated), Long Beach Shoreline Marina and Rainbow Harbor Marina… The many marinas from private to public are well protected by an offshore breakwater and natural south-facing bay. Boating public like’s Alamitos Bay for its rapid access to open water and close proximity to Catalina Island. Due to the offshore breakwater it makes great sailing and all around boating practically perfect year round.
